Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the services of Stratus Government Services LLC ("SGS," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Services

SGS provides medical courier and logistics services, including but not limited to:

  • STAT emergency medical deliveries
  • Scheduled medical specimen and supply transport
  • Cold chain/temperature-controlled logistics
  • HIPAA-compliant healthcare document delivery
  • Chain of custody documentation services

3. Service Areas

Our services are primarily available in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, and surrounding metropolitan areas including Milwaukee, WI; Indianapolis, IN; Detroit, MI; and Minneapolis, MN. Service availability may vary by location. Contact us to confirm service in your area.

4. Client Responsibilities

As a client, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate pickup and delivery information
  • Properly package and label all items for transport
  • Comply with all applicable regulations for transported materials
  • Disclose any hazardous materials or special handling requirements
  • Ensure authorized personnel are available for pickup and delivery
  • Pay for services in accordance with agreed terms

5. HIPAA and Compliance

SGS operates in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other applicable healthcare regulations. We will execute Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) as required. Clients are responsible for ensuring they have proper authorization to transport Protected Health Information (PHI).

6. Prohibited Items

We do not transport:

  • Illegal substances or contraband
  • Explosives or weapons
  • Items prohibited by law from transport
  • Materials requiring specialized permits we do not hold

7. Pricing and Payment

Service pricing will be provided upon request and confirmed before service commencement. Prices may vary based on distance, urgency, special handling requirements, and time of service. Payment terms will be established in your service agreement.

8. Liability Limitations

While we take every precaution to ensure safe delivery, SGS's liability for loss or damage is limited to the lesser of the actual value of the item or the maximum coverage specified in your service agreement. We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to weather, traffic, or acts of God.

9. Insurance

SGS maintains appropriate commercial insurance for our operations. Clients requiring additional coverage should obtain separate insurance for high-value or irreplaceable items.

10. Service Level Expectations

We strive to meet the following service standards:

  • STAT Services: Under 60-minute response within metro areas (subject to traffic conditions)
  • Scheduled Deliveries: Within agreed timeframes
  • 24/7 Availability: Emergency services available around the clock

These are targets, not guarantees. Actual performance may vary based on conditions.

11. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation terms vary by service type. Scheduled services may be cancelled with 24-hour notice without penalty. STAT services dispatched cannot be cancelled. Contact us for specific cancellation policies.

12. Confidentiality

We maintain strict confidentiality regarding client information and transported items. Our team is trained in HIPAA compliance and proper handling of sensitive materials.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold SGS harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your breach of these terms, misrepresentation of transported items, or violation of applicable laws.

14. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to binding arbitration in accordance with Illinois law.

15. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law principles.

16. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
